Cambodia Expect to Resin 245,500 Tons of Rubber by 2020

Cambodian expect to resin around 245,500 tons of rubber by 2020, H.E. Chan Sarun Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery said in the consultation meeting on the draft law of rubber last week.

The rubber plantation in the country will expand to 365,000 ha and expect to resin around 245,000 tons by 2020 for export and manufacturing, he said.

According to the ministry’s statistic, up to June 2011, the rubber plantation in Cambodia was 181,040 ha, but there were only 34,922 ha can resin with 35,000 to 40,000 tons of rubber.

In the first semester of the year Cambodian can export rubber up to US$ 102.2 million while at the same time in previous year was only US$ 30.5 million.
