[PHNOM PENH POST]
MOBILITYONE has entered into agreements with several domestic telecom
firms to sell their prepaid reloads, but has not been “aggressively
expanding” its business in Cambodia, according to the e-commerce
company’s 2010 annual report
Hello Axiata, Latelz, Cambodia
Advance Communications, Viettel Cambodia, Sotelco and Applifone – which
last year were the parent companies of Hello, Smart, QB, Metfone,
Beeline and Star-Cell, respectively – were listed among the company’s
new clients. Smart and Star-Cell have since merged, however.
The
firm’s technology aims to compete with other mobile phone top-up
methods such as scratch cards and Refresh Mobile’s electronic service.
Despite the agreements, MobilityOne said its business focus had been outside the Kingdom.
“MobilityOne
has not been aggressively expanding its business in Cambodia, as the
group has been focusing its time and investments on expanding its
business operations in Malaysia,” the company said.
Mobility One representatives could not be reached for comment by The Post yesterday.
