Hello parent wins award

[PHNOM PENH POST]

HELLO’s parent Axiata Group was named “Best Telecom Group of the Year” for 2011 by research and consultancy firm Frost & Sullivan, the Malaysia-based telecom has announced. This is the third year in a row that Axiata has won the category, which is a part of Frost & Sullivan’s Asia Pacific ICT Awards, the company said in a statement. Hello chief executive Simon Perkins congratulated Axiata Group and pointed to the parent company’s role in shaping his Cambodian operations. Axiata’s “strength across the region opens up many opportunities for Hello to tap on in terms of connectivity, technology and talent’’, he said. Frost & Sullivan industry manager for Asia-Pacific ICT Marc Einstein said Axiata had brought in US$5.1 billion in revenues for 2010, a 17 per cent jump from the year before.
