Vietnamese Trade Fair Opened

Phnom Penh, November 2, 2011 – The Vietnamese Ministries of Defense and Commerce opened on Tuesday a trade fair at the Diamond Convention and Exhibition Center in Phnom Penh to promote trade between the two countries.

Some 150 Vietnamese companies have been displaying their products including construction materials, food, garment, medicine and office supplies on 275 booths, Mr. Phan Vet Thick from the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense told reporters.

General Triu Xuan Hao, representative of the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense said the five-day trade fair will boost the trade and investment as well as the solidarity between the two peoples and countries.

At the opening ceremony, H.E. Keo Sok Nay, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce said bilateral trade between the two countries has seen much improvement since the last few years.

The Cambodia-Vietnam bilateral trade volume reached US$1,830 million in 2010, and it grew to US$2,074 million for the third quarter of this year, he said.
