PHNOM PENH -- The bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and China had reached 1.43 billion U.S. dollars in the first eight months of this year, Chinese Embassy to Cambodia said on Sunday.

Jin Yuan, economic and commercial counselor of Chinese Embassy, said in his speech at the event of celebrating the 10th anniversary of China's Zhengtai Co. that the 8-month trade value between the two countries almost equals to the trade volume in the whole year 2010.

Zhengtai Co. operated and distributed Chinese electric supplies and equipment in Cambodia.

"Base on the figures, we believe that the trade between China and Cambodia this year will probably hit two billion U.S. dollars, " he said.

Cambodia's main imports from China were garment raw materials, machinery, foodstuffs, electronics, furniture, light products, medicines and cosmetics.

Cambodia's main exports to China were agricultural products, rubbers, fishery, timbers, and some garments and textiles.
