Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has reported strong demand for its recently released 2012 Asia program, with the inaugural Vietnam and Cambodia itineraries gaining traction among Australian travellers after just a few months in market.

The luxury river cruise company expanded its 2012 Asia brochure to include two new itineraries – the 15-day Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong and the 24-day Grand Asia & the Mekong – which will see travellers cruise the mystic Mekong onboard the stunning new River Saigon from January 2012. The 2012 Asia brochure, which includes eight amazing itineraries, hit travel agent shelves in July.

The introduction of Vietnam and Cambodia to complement Uniworld’s rich China offering is in response to the growing fascination of these culturally and historically-rich destinations and their popularity among travellers.

John Molinaro, general manager Australia, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, said: “It’s fantastic to see such a positive response from both agents and consumers towards our new Vietnam and Cambodia product after only launching in July.

“We are very pleased with the number of enquires we have received about our two new Vietnam and Cambodia itineraries for 2012 and are anticipating a highly successful season for these markets out of Australia. Many are also asking about our 2013 departures so we are really confident about the ongoing strength of this new program.

“The growing demand for travel in this part of the world, and river cruising specifically, is why we have chosen to launch at this time.”

Molinaro added that while the river cruise market in Vietnam and Cambodia is highly competitive, the company’s new, custom-built River Saigon gives it a strong point of difference.

“River Saigon offers your clients a unique, indulgent and hassle-free way to cruise the Mekong River and experience the untouched beauty of these destinations,” he said.

The River Saigon offers an intimate cruise experience with just 30 riverview staterooms meaning there are never more than 60 guests onboard. Each deluxe stateroom is a generous 15.6 square metres and features French-doors which open onto an outside sitting area, allowing for sweeping views of the river. Your clients will also be treated to the finest linens, a pillow menu, individual climate control, bottled water, robes, slippers and luxurious bath and body products.

The ship’s public areas add another level of luxury with a spacious sun deck, a separate lounge with library, massage room, boutique and a panoramic, fine-dining restaurant inviting indulgence of the highest order.
