Sept 14, 2011 -- Nippon Express Co., Ltd., a Japanese company engaged in the transportation business, has opened a representative office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Cambodia has in recent years actively sought to
attract foreign capital, and the country has achieved steady economic
development driven principally by a booming textile industry. In 2015
import tariffs on transactions between countries in the ASEAN Free Trade
Area (AFTA) are to abolished, spurring expectations that companies from
numerous industries and countries will accelerate their expansion into
Cambodia.
In addition, Cambodia has rapidly
garnered attention in recent years as a key junction on the land routes
connecting Thailand and southern Vietnam, and it is regarded as an
important base for road transport in the Indochina region.
This new representative office brings the Nippon Express's overseas network to 389 business locations in 211 cities in 37 countries. Nippon Express is committed to building up its corporate infrastructure to meet a broad range of needs - from international air and ocean cargo forwarding to road transport and warehousing - and will provide full-spectrum support to companies expanding their business operations in Cambodia.
