PHNOM PENH, Sept. 21 -- Cambodia and Myanmar on Wednesday vowed to boost bilateral cooperation by promoting culture and tourism for the interests of both sides' peoples.

Speaking in a meeting with visiting President of Myanmar's Parliament Khin Aung Myint at Phnom Penh's Peace Palace, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said it was important to boost cooperation between Cambodia and Myanmar bilaterally and in the framework of the ASEAN members in all sectors, especially on cultures and tourism.

He added that as the two countries had huge potentials in tourism, there should be closer tourism cooperation between Cambodia's cultural Siem Reap province and Myanmar's Yangon city.

In February, Myanmar Airline International launched its direct flights between Siem Reap and Yangon to boost tourism cooperation.

Meanwhile, Khin Aung Myint agreed that the relations between the two countries should be strengthened and expanded for the interests of the two peoples.

According to the reports of Cambodian Commerce Ministry, there was no any trade transaction between Cambodia and Myanmar so far.

Also, there was no investment project between the two nations, showed the reports of the Council for the Development of Cambodia.
