EVNI speeds up power projects in Cambodia, Laos

The EVN International Joint Stock Company (EVNI) is speeding up itsinvestment in hydroelectric power projects in Cambodia and Laos.

The projects include the Ha Se San 2 hydroelectric power project in SeSan district of Cambodia's Stung Treng province, which has beenapproved by the Government of Cambodia and will be carried out under thebuild-operate-transfer (BOT) form. EVNI contributed a 51 percent staketo the project.

The 400 MW plant is expected to be built in 2012 and completed by the end of 2016.

EVNI has completed a feasibility study on the Ha Se San1/Ha Se San 5hydroelectric power plant in Ozdao district of Cambodia's Rattana Kiriprovince and Duc Co district of Vietnam's Central Highlands Gia Laiprovince.

In addition, it has signed a memorandum ofunderstanding with the Cambodian Ministry of Industry, Mining and Energyon jointly conducting study on the 407 million USD Sekong hydroelectricpower project with a designed capacity of 190 MW.

Furthermore, EVNI is preparing to invest in the Nam Mo 1 hydroelectricpower project in Laos' Siengkhouang province which has a totalinvestment of 119 million USD.
