[PHNOM PENH POST]
THE Ministry of Tourism aimed to improve human resources in the
Kingdom’s tourism sector through a partnership with the National
Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia, Tourism Minister Thong Khon said
yesterday. The university operates a tourism undergraduate degree, which
the ministry aims to co-operate with to improve the skills of the
Kingdom’s tourism professionals. Thong Khon noted a lack of quality
tourism workers.
NPIC graduates had a high likelihood of finding
employment in the tourism sector, chairman Pich Sophoan said at the
ceremony. “We have 104 students graduating from the [programme], with 90
percent getting tourism jobs,“ he said.
