GLOBAL holiday resort company Club Med is considering expanding its
operations into Cambodia on the back of success in other Asian
countries, according to reports yesterday. The French firm is eyeing
Cambodia and Vietnam expansion as part of its plans to grow into an Asia
high-end holiday option, adding to its resorts in countries such as
China. “The very sharp improvement in first-half results and the
increase in the number of customers … have demonstrated the
effectiveness of our strategy,” chairman and CEO Henri Giscard
d’Estaing told British newspaper The Independent. Club Med
representatives were unavailable for comment yesterday.
