Espresso under threat

[PHNOM PENH POST]

Some of Phnom Penh's coffee shop and eatery stalwarts say they are facing strong challenges from a rash of newer stores setting up. Srey Pick, owner of Herb CafĂ© in Chamkarmon district, said yesterday her shop’s sales had declined sharply in the previous six months with more intense competition. 'I am worried – my sales have declined by 50 percent,' she said, adding her shop targeted foreigners. King Kim Srean, owner of Phnom Penh’s Sentiment cafes, said his three branches had seen a 40-percent decline so far this year.
